Anice Jewellery brings vintage jewellery back to life, in a giant jewellery box of a store.

Anice Jewellery has a one-of-a-kind antique jewellery created and owned by Brittany Hopkins. Anice Jewellery revives and refurbishes antique jewellery making it modern yet vintage. The jewellery store has two locations in Toronto.

The boutique is inspired by Hopkins grandmother, Anice Kulak. “She [Kulak] would always wear these little trinkets that I just fell in love with,” Hopkins said.

Hopkins, originally from Edmonton, Alberta, studied entrepreneurship and innovation when she found out about the jewellery making program at George Brown College. She graduated with a diploma of jewellery arts from George Brown in 2010, which made her a certified goldsmith.

However, Hopkins’ love of jewellery started at a very young age.

“I started making it like any young girl does- friendship bracelets for my friends and gimp jewellery. I dabbled in making my own versions of jewellery,” Hopkins said.

Two years after graduating, Hopkins opened up her first location of Anice Jewellery in Kensington Market in June of 2012.

Anice Jewellery is not just a jewellery store. It’s also a jewellery repair spot, a jewellery making class, and a great places to hang out with friends and drink some wine.

The store works as a one-stop jewellery hospital, Hopkins encourages jewellery owners not to give up on their favourite broken bracelets, earrings, or necklaces and repair them.

The store also offers two-hour jewellery making workshops that are held three times a month. These workshops teach jewellery enthusiasts how to make jewellery they love, all with items available in the store.

The workshops even includes private classes where customers can book two hours of jewellery making for a birthday party, bridal shower or with a group of friends. The store even has a workshop package called Girls night out where people gather together with their friends, make jewellery, and drink wine.

“Making jewellery kind of felt like it came very naturally,” Hopkins said, “jewellery has been my obsession.”
